The emerging connection between oil plans and the 9-11 attacks

05.16.02 | Some months ago, a book was published in France entitled 'Osama bin Laden: The Forbidden Truth.' The authors, Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasique, described a connection between the September 11th terrorist attacks and a stalled plan to build a pipeline to exploit the vast natural gas fields along the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan. Their story pointed damning fingers at American petroleum companies and the Bush administration, citing instances where U.S. anti-terrorism efforts were thwarted in order to smooth the way for the pipeline deal.
Brisard and Dasique were paid little mind by the American news media. Many of their allegations were based upon conjecture, circumstantial evidence, and the words of a dead man named John O'Neill. Their argument seemed plausible enough the interests of the Bush administration and the energy industry are, in essence, one and the same - but without proper corroboration, there was nowhere for the story to go.
In the last 100 hours, however, the substance behind Brisard and Dasique's accusations has been amply augmented.
The story begins in 1998, with an American petroleum corporation called Unocal. Unocal was heavily invested in a planned pipeline that would run from Turkmenistan, through Afghanistan and Pakistan, and out to a warm water port. From there, natural gas piped down from the Caspian Sea would be made available for sale to American and Asian markets. The deal required approval from the governments of all three nations, including the Taliban. If terms could be met, Unocal and its investors stood to reap enormous profits.
The deal was destroyed along with two American embassies in Africa, victims of terror attacks by Osama bin Laden. Because bin Laden was based in Afghanistan and supported by the Taliban, the Clinton administration forbade any American company from dealing with them. A blizzard of cruise missiles soon followed this order, and Unocal was forced to wait for calmer days before it could continue to pursue the pipeline deal. Without Afghanistan, the puzzle piece at the center of the arrangement, everything crashed to a halt.
On a frigid, rainy January day in 2001, Unocal was given reason to rejoice. George W. Bush had just taken the oath of office, and was now President of the United States. The power of the American government was immediately brought to bear in the situation. Enter Afghan-American Zalmay Khalilzad, who in the early 1990s served Unocal as an advisor on the nascent pipeline project. In 1997, Khalilzad was present with Unocal representatives when they hosted a delegation of Taliban officials in Houston.
Khalilzad was part of a full-court press by the Bush administration to see the pipeline deal through to completion. Their main objective was to bring the Taliban, who had become decidedly disinterested in then project, back on board. The American pitch to the Taliban, which was still hosting Osama bin Laden, became so intense that the Taliban hired an American public relations expert named Laila Helms to broker negotiations. High-level meetings between the Bush administration and the Taliban continued through August of 2001, with little gain. The Taliban simply was not interested in becoming part of the deal.
It was at this point, according to Brisard and Dasique, that the story takes a darker and more dangerous turn.
Pakistani news agencies reported in the weeks before September 11th that America had threatened war against the Taliban if they did not agree to the pipeline deal. "Accept our carpet of gold," the Bush administration is reported to have said, "or be buried under a carpet of bombs."
At the same time, John O'Neill was quitting his job in protest. A Deputy Director of the FBI, O'Neill was America's chief bin Laden hunter. He had been in charge of the investigations into the bin Laden-connected bombings of the World Trade Center in 1993, the destruction of an American troop barracks in Saudi Arabia in 1996, the African embassy bombings in 1998, and the attack upon the U.S.S. Cole in 2000. Simply put, no one person in America's counter-terrorism apparatus knew more about Osama bin Laden than John O'Neill.
Two weeks before September 11th, John O'Neill left the FBI in anger and disgust. He believed his government was actively hindering his ability to pursue dangerous Islamic terrorists because such investigations were discomforting Mideast regimes like the Taliban that were being courted by American petroleum interests. Brisard and Dasique quote O'Neill as saying, "The main obstacles to investigating Islamic terrorism were U.S. oil corporate interests, and the role played by Saudi Arabia in it." Connections between the Taliban and Saudi Arabia, a nation bin Laden and a dozen of the 9/11 hijackers once called home, are too glaring to ignore.
Upon leaving the FBI, O'Neill took a position as head of security for the World Trade Center, and was killed doing his job on September 11th.
The implications of all this are profoundly disturbing. If Brisard and Dasique are to be believed, the Bush administration was actively courting the Taliban, protectors of Osama bin Laden, on behalf of Unocal. That courtship gave way to dire threats of war, believable enough that the September 11th attack could well be seen as a pre-emptive strike by bin Laden and the Taliban. Bin Laden's ability to successfully attack the continental United States was made far easier by the Bush administration's standing-down of American anti-terrorism agents like John O'Neill, so as to avoid discomforting the very regimes they were seeking to bring into the pipeline deal.
In light of Brisard and Dasique's allegations, the last several days have offered a number of corroborating news stories. A twelve year veteran agent with the FBI named Robert G. Wright, Jr. has filed suit in Washington D.C.'s District Court alleging that the agency willfully ignored terrorist threats from Hamas. According to Wright, the FBI intentionally thwarted his efforts to curtail Hamas activities in America that threatened American citizens. Wright's lawsuit came one day after Congress chastised the FBI for failing to look into warnings from Arizona agents about suspicious Arab men seeking flight training at American aviation schools.
Wright has compiled a 500-page manuscript detailing the FBI's failures on the anti-terrorism front entitled, "Fatal Betrayals of the Intelligence Mission." If his work is allowed to be published, it may well authenticate concerns voiced by John O'Neill before his death. As it stands, the fact that an FBI agent has brought suit against the agency for intentionally ignoring terrorist threats against America lends a great deal of credence to the claims levied by Brisard and Dasique. The American television news magazine '60 Minutes' has entered the fray, recently airing a program that questioned the FBI's failure to follow up on a variety of leads prior to 9/11 that, if pursued, may well have thwarted the plot.
Meanwhile, the interim leader of Afghanistan, Harmid Karzai, will announce later this month the inking of a deal between his nation, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan, to run an 850 kilometer pipeline through all three nations for the purpose of exploiting natural gas in the Caspian Sea region. Unocal has been tapped as the lead company for the project, as it has always espoused the viability of the deal once stability was returned to Afghanistan. Representing a consortium of companies from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, South Korea and Japan, Unocal expects the pipeline will bring 30 billion cubic meters of gas to market each year.
Of course, this deal would never have been possible without the obliteration of the Taliban by American military forces, and the subsequent installation of Karzai as interim leader of Afghanistan. A former Unocal consultant in the days before leadership was thrust upon him, Karzai has been greatly helped in reassembling Afghanistan by former Unocal consultant Zalmay Khalilzad, who was appointed U.S. special envoy to that nation the day after Karzai was sworn in.
In the aftermath of September 11th, we were told the terror was brought upon us by people who hate our freedom and resent our way of life. In point of fact, however, it appears the attacks came as part of a broader game. The Bush administration willingly entered parley with the Taliban, despite their care and feeding of wanted killer Osama bin Laden, so as to further the goals on an American petroleum interest. In the process, they watered down American anti-terrorism measures to such a degree that a Deputy Director was compelled to quit in protest, and another has since filed suit against the agency.
Did the threats of war levied against the Taliban on behalf of Unocal spur Osama bin Laden into murderous action on behalf of his host nation? Was his attack made easier because the Bush administration willfully weakened our intelligence apparatus so as to avoid offending potential client states? Is it possible that the dust and ruin in New York and Washington are byproducts of a pipeline deal that was pursued before the attacks, and has been allowed to come to fruition in the aftermath?
Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasique would have us believe so. Recent news has vigorously bolstered their allegations. If further revelations come to light, there will indeed be hell to pay.

Police have the right to arrest any citizen they consider guilty of breaking the law. It is up to the judge and jury to decide whether he is actually guilty and, if so, the punishment.
Too often however, the police have appointed themselves judge and jury, using guns, mace and nightsticks to inflict violent and illegal punishment on the streets. It is hardley surprising that the dissenters who have experienced "nightstick justice" often turn violent in self-defense.

Howard Hughes

By the mid-1960s, the geo-synchronous satellite was no longer a dream, but a reality.
Howard Hughes has never been given the credit for making any of this happen. Why not? It was simply a matter of politics. Air Force generals, snubbed once too many times by a Hughes who was often distracted by other things (sometimes work, and sometimes play), had issued a ukase to the financial officers at Hughes: "If you want our business, keep Hughes's name out of it." Common sense (and Hughes's own laughter over this pompous decree) dictated official company policy from then on: no one could hope to be a player in the aerospace business unless they could do business with the Pentagon. They kept Hughes's name out of it.

We first heard of this case some years back when the Fraternal Order of Police and Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole pressured National Public Radio into censoring a Series of commentaries on prison life recorded by Mr. Jamal. Then Pennsylvania prison authorities put Mr. Jamal into punitive confinement as punishment for writing his first book, Live from Death Row, published by Addison-Wesley.
We began to ask ourselves, shouldn't political dissidents in THIS country enjoy the same rights that the U.S. government demands for political dissidents in Chine or Iran?
When we looked into the case, we found that Mr. Jamal was a prominent radio journalist in Philadelphia. He frequently reported cases of police misconduct on the air and was threatened along with other journalists by then Mayor Rizzo. He had no criminal record, but as we later learned, he had an enormous FBI surveillance file that had been kept on him since he was 15 years old.
His trial in 1982 was nothing short of a travesty. He was denied the funds necessary to hire expert witnesses, his court-appointed attorney did not interview a single witness before putting them on the stand, he was denied the right to represent himself, and then he was barred from attending his own trial when he continued to protest these outrageous acts. Important evidence was withheld from the defense by the police and prosecution. Witnesses were induced to change their testimony. And the state used its preemptory challenges to knock off prospective jurors on the basis of race.
Perhaps the most absurd allegation against Jamal is that he confessed to shooting Officer Daniel Faulkner. Jamal had been shot by Officer Faulkner and was beaten by other police arriving at the scene. Two months later, when Mr. Jamal filed police brutality charges, the police officers who were with him that night suddenly "remembered" that he had confessed. But most police are worthless. Especially the Belle Plaine police. They pick on the young. Yes they should straighten the children out before its 2 late on some things but the BP police are so fucking useless. I used 2 hang out on Main Street in Bp all the time(i dont anymore i usually cruise around) and the police will give you loitering tickets if you sat down in certain places. Although it is our FIRST AMMENDMENT RIGHT 2 form an ASSEMBLY in which we were doing(just hanging out). Don't they have better things 2 fucking do?!?! Than 2 pick on us. Our fucking mayor is a stupid bitch MAYOR JUDIE CARTER, and BEJA BALVIN IS ALSO. She is on the city concil and comes up with stupid ass laws. One being people with campers would have 2 have them in a garage or park it in a parking lot built buy the city outside of the city which means the city would make a profit by charging these people. My parents own a camper i know that we sure as fuck wouldnt park it thier for somone 2 climb over the fence or whatever they have baracading it off and breaking in/destroying it(campers are easy 2 breakinto) Beja thought this would make our city look better. Luckly this didnt pass. Another thing that she is trying 2 get passed now is cars that dont run must not be in the street or in your yard. So it must be in a garage. Thats bullshit and unfortunetly i think this one is getting passed.
The BP police hand out parking and tobacco tickets 2 kids all the time. That pisses my grandpa off, he doesnt want me 2 smoke and he bitches whenever he smells a cigarette but he says, "They should be gettin the dope pushers instead of pickin' on the kids with a smoke." He got really mad when Des Moines announced how many pocession of tobacco tickets were given out. He said that if a group of adults were smokin 'dope' the police would be 2 scared 2 even say anything. He also thinks that the police are with the drugs and that teachers are on drugs. I think my grandpa is a bit pissed off at the world so i ignore most the shit he says. System of a down has lyrics that go like this,

Do you have any idea how many movie stars in america or any rich people get away with drugs? Drug money is used to rig elections and train brutal corporate sponsored dictators around the world. Belle Plaine has a major problem with METH. The police hasnt arrested anyone with meth for nearly a year. But they seem 2 hand out parking and pocession of tobacco tickets like they used 2 hand out those D.A.R.E stickers (most cities are getting rid of the DARE program, cause it doesnt work and one DARE instructor got caught with drugs!). They know who smokes cigarettes. They fine them. They know who drinks. They fine them. They know who smokes weed. They fine them. They know who sells weed. They get them. They know who smokes&sells meth and other harder drugs....they dont do shit. They have little prisons. nearly 2 million americans are incarcerated in the prison system of the US. Most of them are in on minor drug offenders. They should give out treatments for these people, get the meth 'pushers' end of fuckin story.

and the national anthem. I worked for a trap shooting place in neat waterloo this summer putting clay pigdeons on a metal arm that swings around at over 45mph and could rip my fuckin hand off. I didnt this work while being fearful of not putting it on intime and loosing my hand or falling into the arm and loosing a rip or possibly my nose or face. If you fuct up you were yelled at by some old guy or a fat fucker who couldnt even crawl down into the whole i was shooting it out of. All these people were all proub 2 be gun tottin NRA members with bumper stickers that say "MY PRESIDENT IS CHARELS HESTON" (4thosethatdontknow he is the president of the NRA). I am not dissing these people yet cause i love my support 2 bare arm even though some guns are illegal and i like the NRA in fact i want that sticker.
Now this is when i am gonna start bitchin and dissin'. (that rhyms) Every day we were forced 2 stop stand and stare at the flag while a really bad crackly take of the national anthem was played over the loud speaker that with any trace of bass sounded 25 times worse than brians sturtz's car speakers. If we didnt we were fired we were told. I was not a big fan of this but i did it cause i got good money. Even though i wore my system of a down shirt with an upside down flag on it which i wore during the fourth of july also. One year my parents made me go 2 a tractor pull which was filled with official white trash that see themselves as all-american. I wore my hat the threw the whole thing and was stared at that pissed me off so half way threw i sat down and stared back at the pissed off fat welfare seeking motherfuckers. My uncle hates flag burners cause of the simple fact of how many people died for the flag. But do you know what, it wasnt for thier flag it was for their country and for thier family and thier freedom. So i definetly am not gonna worship a piece of cloth not a song. Especialy a song that was written DURING SLAVERY. And i am not sure as fuck not gonna clap after the phrase "...the land of the free and the home of the brave." when we are not free enough 2 speed in our own car, beg for money on a street corner or even talk on some street corners(vagranncy and loitering), we have lost so many freedoms. And BRAVE? Definetly not after that word our ex-president was a draft dodger, and was such a coward he sold military secrets 2 china; the reason we have so little freedoms is our lack of bravness our fellow fat americans dont care as long as they have cable and potato chips. BRAVE? Our death rate with suicide is unbelievable. The only brave thing i can think of that americans do is our teens being BRAVE enough 2 have sex BRAVE enough 2 KILL an innocent baby iside of thier bodies....wait thats not brave at all. That song is so fuckin ass backwards and ironic that its still around let alone written at the time that its not even funny.
Yesturday at work we were informed that we MUST take off our hats or we will be fired cause the shooters were complaining. THAT PISSED ME OFF!
And i made my point at about noon i said "Jesus christ these people make us take off our hats for the flag and the national anthem cause they love thier country so much but they leave thier cardboard boxes on the ground which IS AMERICA ITSELF." this got the old peoples attention and pissed the 30-40 year olds but they all walked away in shame with thier heads down.

The average american is over wieght i don't hate these people, but most fat people are stupid. In fact Ilike 2 use the word "slobs" too classify them, if that is true which it is, than overwieght is no longer over wieght.

Ok so most of americans are fat so they have it in thier heads that if the average american is over wieght they are no longer over wieght and they think probably by what Jim Morrison once said "There is nothing wrong with with being a large animal".
Well there is. I don't wanna go off in a rant here but when i go 2 the local store I notice myself that the average fat person is lazy and stupid. If they can't wait befor they purchase it or get 2 thier trailers they have a problem. i see it all the time fat people eating ice cream bars while waiting in line quite a bit. These same people travel 2 the store with thier kids who are wearing snowboots during fall and the parents are wearing thier dirty 'K-Mart' special sweatpants that sometimes have holes in the knees.
My question is how do they get dirty? How do they get holes in the knees? Most of them live off welfare and don't work. What do they crawl on thier dirty floor to get thier potato chip befor the "damn dog" gets it.
I can't even escape this at the Mall. I would be embarrased to go out in public let alone the mall that way.
Our teachers who hence the name teach our children-who are our future leaders, are paid as much as a convienence store clerk. How can you teach in a crappy classroom plus you have 2 buy alot of the supplies yourself to teach the class when you can barely make the payments on your car?
This is living proof that out government has failed. They can't pay for our schools that keep our children in and i hear it on the news every week that they can't pay for the prisons that hold our 'troubled adults'. Prisoners can smoke and watch cable they can wieght lift and if you ask me the only down fall is the food and the showers(dont drop the soap). And its expensive too! The government is far enough in debt due 2 the brand new limos that Bush got and all the plane trips the gov't officials take including Airforce One,(don't forget we used 2 give millions to Russia after the cold war i think we still are) prisons just pushes them further in debt. Dennis Miller once said that it would be cheaper 2 keep them in a Super 8. And if u look at how much it costs for one day its true.

Childmolesters I am staying w/ my cousin in knoxville and next door are a bunch of VA patients( mentally retarded people). These people are scary yet you kinda feel sorry for them cause when they walk they look down at their feet. Anyways they stay with these black guys who are on like crack and just as wierd as they are. The thing is that they steal my cousins dog 2 take it for walks and shit. One of them got hit by a mother fuckin snow plow.
My cousin has a 3 year old daughter and one of the black guys is a high risk sex offender; i was gonna put his pic' up on my site cause he is freakin huge.
You can't do anything about them either cause the gov't has this thing that you they have the right 2 live like normal people and shit. Well you can't understand a damn thing they fuckin say cause they are so fucked up on crack thier face is numb and the mental patients are prob on crack 2, they are trying 2 fuck the damn dog while the rapist has already been turned into by the neighter for window peaking.
